Qutab Minar
The
tall minaret was constructed in 1192 by Qutab-ud-din Aibak, and later
completed by his successor Iltutmish. The soaring conical tower is an
exquisite example of Indo-Islamic Afghan architecture.

The whole structure is made of Red stone. The fort was built by Shahjahan
- the Mughal King who also built the famous Taj Mahal - in 1648. Shahjahan

Tomb
The tomb was built for safdarjung,the powerful prime minister of Mohhamad
Shah who was the weak Mughal emperor from 1719 to 1748.The central tomb
has a huge dome.
Daragah
of Khwaza Moinuddin Chishti
Ajmer is a popular pilgrimage center for the Hindus as well as Muslims.
It houses the Dargah or tomb of the 13th century Sufi saint Khwaja
Moinuddin Chisti, which is equally revered by the Hindus and Muslims. The
shrine is next only to Mecca and Medina for the Muslims of South Asia. It
is said that Akbar used to make a pilgrimage to the Dargah from Agra once
a year.
Adhai-din ka Jhonpra Mosque
By local folklore it was a Jain temple once & was converted to a
mosque during the period of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb in a short span of
two & half a day. Still some pillars have pictures similar to Hindu
temples.
Abdullah Khan Tomb
Built in the year 1710 AD, this tomb represents the
architecture grandeur of the later mughal era. A plaque in the nearby
shrine describes that one more mosque and a patch were put up alongside
with this mosque, of which nothing remains.

walls, this was the place where Jahangir met the British ambassador Sir

Shahhamdan Mosque
Khanqah-e-Moulla, also called the shrine of Shah-e-Hamdan and
Shah-i-Hamdan Mosque, is popular as it was the first ever mosque
constructed in Kashmir. Built on the beautiful sandy banks of the Jhelum
river in Srinagar.
Dastgeer Sahib
Dastgeer Sahib is an 200 year old shrine situated in khaniyar. Gous E
Azam stayed there three times. It has the old quran written by HAZRAT ABU
BAKR SIDIQQI R.A, HAZRAT ALI, and the Mouia Pak, a piece of hair from Gous
E Azam. It was constructed in 1806 and expanded in 1877 by Khwaja
Sanaullah Shawl.

Hamza Makhdum Shrine
Fort is the shrine of SHEIKH HAMZA Makhdum. Also known as Makhdoom Sahib,
Mehboob-ul-Alam and Sultan-Ul-Arifeen. Shrine is towards the southern side
of Koh e Maran Hill. It is one of the most sacred shrines in Kashmir.
Charar-E-Sharif
Situated at a distance of about 40 kms from the capital, Charar-e-Sharif
in Srinagar is dedicated to Sheikh Noor-ud-Din Noorani, a Sufi saint. You
can access the Charar-e-Sharif in Srinagar also from the Pakistan Occupied
Kashmir area.
Jama
Masjid
Definitely one of the most active mosques in Srinagar, Jami Masjid owes
its origin to 3 Mughal rulers. It is also created in wood and is noted for
its 370 towering pillars supporting the roof, each pillar made of one
deodar tree truck! Enter the mosque through its south gate and take a walk
through the spacious green garden.
Shankaracharya Temple
Located on the Shankaracharya Hill, this temple is dedicated to Lord
Shiva and is accessible by a flight of stairs. It overlooks the Kashmir
Valley and its inner sanctum has Persian inscriptions. The original
dome-shaped ceiling has been replaced by a more modern ceiling.
Harwan:- Located near the Harwan Village, this garden has remnants
dating to the Buddhist era. The ornamented tiles placed here have
depictions of the attire of people, as trousers, caps and turbans. Back to
